Promoting Immune Health

With the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 (and not to mention cold and flu season in many countries!), it’s easy to feel stressed and overwhelmed about your overall health and wellness.

While there’s no magic pill that will help you fend off all illnesses, there are simple steps that you can take to ensure that your body stays as healthy as possible. Even through challenging times, it’s important to take care of yourself and ensure that you are giving your body the fuel that it needs to thrive.

So with that, what are some of the top ways that you can take care of yourself to promote immune health?

  1. Take the time to relax. Stress can have a detrimental effect on your immune system, making you more prone to illness. It’s important to integrate self-care into your daily routine by participating in activities that you love. Some ideas could include reading a book, relaxing in a bubble bath followed by a Moringa Oil head massage or chatting with friends on the phone!
  2. Eat enough protein. Protein is essential for helping your body fight infection. Protein-rich foods include fish, poultry, nuts/seeds, beans, chickpeas, lentils and more! Amaranth contains 9.3g of protein per 1 cup!
  3. Keep your digestive system strong. More and more research is coming out every day around the role that the digestive system plays in immune health. Keep your digestive system thriving by getting lots of fiber and eating probiotic-rich foods. Fiber-rich foods include fruits, vegetables, whole grains (like Amaranth, Quinoa, etc.), and more! Chia Seeds are an excellent source of fiber, helping to keep your digestive system working properly.
  4. Ensure you are getting enough vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants - these micronutrients work hard to keep your immune system healthy while fighting off potential pathogens. Vitamins, Minerals, and Antioxidants are jam-packed in colorful fruits and vegetables. Moringa is incredibly rich in antioxidants, like Vitamin C.

With all the stress and overwhelm that comes with life, keeping your immune system healthy should be a top priority! By taking the time to relax, de-stress and enjoy the natural immune fighting compounds that whole foods have to offer, you can ensure that your body remains in tip-top shape to take on whatever comes its' way.
