Why World Vegan Month Is Good for Everyone

Veganism is a lifestyle choice which includes the consumption of a plant-based diet, avoiding exploitation and cruelty towards animals to derive foods such as dairy, meat, eggs and honey and products such as leather and mink. Vegans discourage and do not use products tested on animals or enclosures that use animals for entertainment such as aquariums and zoos. An individual’s inclination towards veganism is distinctive but stems from concerns about animal and environmental welfare and religious reasons.

Research suggests that choosing a vegan lifestyle can result in number of health benefits, if followed strictly and planned well. For those who have followed a diet rich in meat and dairy for majority of their lives, can observe enormous changes within their bodies when they move towards a vegan lifestyle.

A vegan diet is considered to be one of the most wholesome lifestyles. Plant-based diets should contain plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes, nuts and seeds. Healthy vegan diets are abundant with vitamins B1, C, and E, folic acid, magnesium, and iron while also being low in cholesterol and saturated fats.
